Homework

Homework is important in its own right and should be seen as a normal and regular aspect of school life and an important and essential part of learning.

Its purpose is to provide activities which link work in the classroom to planned activities at home, thus encouraging parental involvement in students learning.

In Key Stage 1 homework is given on an informal basis, mainly in the form of reading. Parents are asked to share books with their children and maintain a two way line of communication to staff.

In Key Stage 2 the nightly reading and weekly spelling will be supplemented with written work which will increase throughout the year.
