Secondary Christmas Performance
December 14, 2011
This year’s Secondary Christmas Performance, held for the first time at the African Art Museum was yet again a great success. Consisting of two parts; the first individual/group performances, and the second a series of sketches by the KS3 Drama Club. Parents, staff and students watched the many talented students at BIS perform for them.
In Part One we had singing by our talented students in English, Spanish and German as well as an individual piano recital, and a poem in Spanish. To round off this part of the show we had a sketch entitled "The Life of Frida Kahlo". We are grateful to have been loaned the Frida Kahlo’s dress by the Embassy of Mexico (http://portal.sre.gob.mx/serbia/), which has been on tour throughout the world.
The second half of the evening had comedy sketches performed by the KS3 Drama Club during the school’s Christmas production, were hailed as a great success. Darija and Lana (Y7) had everyone laughing with their hilarious portrayals of a doctor and dying patient. Milica (Y7) was very impressive as compere and Anine (Y7) showed a natural gift for comic mime; her interpretation of how to drag a fictitious dead body off a stage brought laughs from everyone. All in all the varied content of the sketches and the slick performances of all the drama club members, provided great entertainment.
Watch out for more comic delights from the Drama Club at the school's Spring Bazaar in May!
