As an international school, BIS values the many different nationalities represented here and we encourage all students to be proud of their own culture and to celebrate and enjoy the traditions, languages and cultures of others.  Our approach arises out of the best of the United Kingdom state and independent education systems, as well as best practices in international education. The international dimension is found within the international content of the curriculum, world field trips and, most particularly, in the special ethos which arises from the unique and harmonious mix of nationalities. Students enter the school from a vast array of countries and are helped to find the appropriate courses with, if necessary, help for teaching English as a Second Language (ESL/EFL). These specialist teachers help new students with differences in curricular programmes and cultural changes by working alongside the students in the classroom as well as providing intensive English lessons. Pupils are entered for external examinations to show their competence in English. |
