CERN in Belgrade student trip - British International School

Our KS4 and KS5 physics students had the opportunity to visit the interactive exhibition ‘CERN in Serbia’ that was organized by the ‘Center for the Promotion of Science’ in cooperation with the Physics Institute in Belgrade.

What does the CERN accelerator, and Large Hadron Collider (LHC) look like? What kind of experimental investigations are conducted there? What is the standard model of particle physics and the mysterious Higgs boson? Those were only some of the questions addressed at the lecture organized for our students that was followed by a supporting video presentation.

Additionally, students observed popular demonstrations of experiments from various fields of physics, such as mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism and many more.

Events like this truly encourage young people’s intellectual curiosity.
