On 13th June this year the BIS said goodbye to the 11th generation of its graduating students. The Graduation Ceremony took place at Vila Jelena Business Club. We were happy to host this year’s guest of honour, Mr. Pietro Sardi, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Italy in Belgrade.
After the opening speech by Ms. Keserovic, the graduates and other guests were addressed by Mr. Sardi, who evoked the memories of his own graduation, and shared his view as to what graduation means in the life of a young person. The guests were then greeted by Mr. Howie who said goodbye to everyone after 2 years of his excellent service as the BIS Deputy Principal.
In addition to the 14 graduation certificates, there were also 2 special awards to be presented to our students. The traditional ECIS Award for International Understanding went to George for his contribution in bringing together the BIS students of different nationalities. The Jonathan Rider Award for Academic Excellence went to Sonja whose dedication to acquiring knowledge secured her a place at Berkeley University CA, USA.
The official Ceremony was followed by diner with music, and everyone truly enjoyed the evening.
We congratulate the Graduating Class of 2008 who have worked hard enough to enter into universities worldwide.
