This year, in association with Mark Pullen, Academy Director of Ragbi Akademija Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade RFLC), and a few of his colleagues, our students from KS3 and KS4 had the opportunity to enjoy a couple of rugby presentation during their PE lessons.
Ivica Djordjevic, Zeljko Delic, Dusan Radovan alongside Mark showed students different elements of the game of rugby which built up to a game of touch rugby at the end of the lesson in which all students participated. Through ‘play-the-ball’, ‘draw & pass’ and both shape drills for the attack formation and defensive line, students got to know a bit more about rugby and its essence.
Lessons turned out to be great success as both students and the professional rugby players seemed to enjoy and have a good time.
Our thanks to all from the Academy and with some of the students showing great talent and interest for the game, who knows, maybe we will have the opportunity to watch one of our very own in one of the rugby leagues in the near future!
