On December 10th 2014 the British Primary School held their annual Christmas production. This year’s performance was an adaptation of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ the West End musical.
The story of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ was originally written by Roald Dahl in 1964. The story featured the adventures of young Charlie Bucket(Filip) inside the Chocolate Factory of eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka (Erol).
The production took place in Rakavica Cultural Centre. The 300 seat venue was filled to capacity with parents who eagerly awaited the lifting of the opening curtain.
All of the children in the Primary School appeared on stage twice wearing elaborately designed costumes. Their roles required them to act sing or dance on the brightly lit stage.
Our students worked very hard over a six weeks period of rehearsals to memorize a 34 page script which included 20 songs and 12 dances.
On the night of the show all the practise was worthwhile because the BIS Primary School children put on a faultless performance.
At the end of the show all the children in the Primary School and the teachers entered the stage to the sing the song ‘Pure Imagnation’. When the song had finished, the cast and all the teachers were given a standing ovation especially our reception who were dressed up as Oompa Loompas.
Many thanks to all the teachers, parents and pupils who dedicated their time to ensuring that this year show was an outstanding success.
